I am going to be getting in touch with cafes and other potential locations through the summer and then sending them samples of biscotti from Galiano.

Blogging for Business

The great advantage of blogs is that they are inexpensive - free! - to set up and are picked up by the search engines easily.

Now, for a little biscotti business that is great. No huge up front costs.

In the next few days I'll be posting about what biscotti is available, how much it is, where you can get it.

But I'll also have some fun and post pictures and recipes.


Why a blog?

I have been making biscotti for years but its only since I arrived on Galiano Island that I have been doing it commercially.

This blog is something of a sales tool for my biscotti. But I hope it will also be a story about a wonderful bit of baking, a business and Canada's Gulf Islands. My idea is to have several locations on each of Galiano Island, Mayne Island, Pender Island and Saltspring. Crazy as it may seem it is quite possible to mail biscotti and that is what I am thinking of doing.

Galiano is an amazing place to have a small business. People here actually want to help you succeed. So that's what I'm trying to do. Make great biscotti and spread it through out the Gulf Islands.

Actually, about a little biscotti business being run on Galiano Island in British Columbia.

Currently we supply chocolate, almond, cranberry and the occassional ginger biscotti to the Daystar Cafe. We're expanding and will be featured at the Bodega Resort. With a bit of luck, as you wait for the ferry, you'll be able to get biscotti at Max and Moritz.
